Who we are

Family & Friends Initiative is a community initiative with a mission to holistically transform communities through various programming.  The initiative origin began in 2015 under the direction of Parrish Davenport as a local community gospel choir.  Parrish used began recruiting vocalist throughout the city and formed the Family & Friends Choir with members ranging from the age of 18-70 coming together as one family.  It was then that members became attractive to the movement as more programming began to evolve from spiritual enrichment, workforce development workshops/seminars and outreach within the city. Slowly members of this initiative began to recognize the importance of their future and utilized tools provided by the leadership team of Family & Friends Initiative to redesign their future.  

Five years later Family & Friends Initiative has grown and established many new programs with an approach to serve the entire family within the community by offering Adult literacy programming  for individuals to receive tools to better themselves and to improve their lives.  Also a youth program established to teach youth to seek tools to grow into strong leaders and to position themselves for a bright future.
